Our Team

Steve DeAngelis, President

Steve graduated from the University of Maine with a chemical engineering degree in 1976 and worked for Scott Paper Company as an engineer for two years before moving to Readfield in 1978. For the last 44 years, he has been a science teacher and coach of various teams at Maranacook Community High School. Steve and his spouse, Tara, built their own home in Readfield and raised their three children in the town. Steve retired from teaching at the end of the 2022 school year. He considers the people of the Maranacook area to be kind of his extended family and looks forward to spending his retirement years helping out the members of that family. 

Kristin Aiello, Board Chair

Kristin has a 25-year career in disability rights as an attorney advocating for the inclusion of children and adults in all aspects of life, including, school, work, extracurricular and civic activities. Kristin believes that every child should have equal opportunity to explore, learn, grow and find their passion, and she is excited about the opportunities that the Steve DeAngelis Community Fund will bring to children and their families. Kristin currently has her own Augusta-based law practice, Aiello Law, LLC, since October 2021. Prior to private practice, Kristin was Senior Attorney at Disability Rights Maine where she specialized in Americans with Disabilities Act litigation on behalf of children and adults. Kristin and her husband, Walt McKee (Maranacook, Class of 1985), reside in Hallowell and have two grown daughters, both who had the privilege and joy to find their passion and community in Nordic ski under the tutelage of Mr. D.

Jane Rankin, Treasurer

Jane is a 2006 graduate of Maranacook High School. She currently works as the Director of Finance at Verrill. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, baking, and spending time with family. 

Joe Stevenson, Board Secretary

Joe grew up on a strawberry farm in Wayne and settled in Fayette after graduating from UMaine with a degree in Forestry.  He works as a forester and environmental consultant at King’s Arrow Company, which he founded in 2015.  Joe is married to Alanna Stevenson and they have 3 daughters.

Ash Cray, Americorp Vista Member

Ash is a 2020 graduate of Maranacook High School and a 2024 graduate of the University of Maine where she studied Child Development and Family Relations with minors in Education and Music. She spent the past two years teaching PreK at the Katherine M. Durst Learning Center and her summers as a camp counselor at Camp Beech Cliff in Mt. Desert, ME. During her time at UMaine, she worked as a Research Assistant with the Servant Heart Research Collaborative’s Attachment Theory Team. In this, she worked to provide family-strengthening training on Attachment Theory to caregivers internationally. Through her studies and work experience, she has become deeply passionate about increasing accessibility to quality education and services for children and families in Maine. Ash is excited to join the team and can’t wait to apply her passion to her work at the Community Fund!

Taylor Cray, Board Member

Taylor Cray is a 2016 Maranacook graduate, life-long learner, adventurer, and unrelentingly hopeful person. Passionate about housing equity and the creation of sustainable communities, Taylor currently works as a Housing Navigator with the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and a Master of Arts in Global Policy, both from the University of Maine at Orono. She lives in Portland, Maine, and can most often be found running, rock climbing, or attempting to grow vegetables in the raised-bed gardens near her apartment.

Kendra Rinas, Board Member

Kendra is a 2001 graduate of Maranacook, and was on the cross-country, nordic skiing and track teams. For the last 17 years Kendra has worked for NGOs and the United Nations throughout Africa and Asia, working to support and advocate for refugees and migrants while implementing projects to support these communities and promote human rights. Kendra is a hiker, scuba diver, traveler and currently lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She still enjoys getting back to beautiful Maine whenever she can.

Chad Wright, Board Member

Chad is 39 years old and lives in Readfield, Maine. He works as an electrician at Meader Electric and has 2 daughters in the Maranacook School District. Chad graduated from Maranacook in 2000 where Mr.DeAngelis was his advisor. Chad very much looks forward to being a part of this board.
