We recently completed our third season of Kids on the Go! This season, 62 enthusiastic 4th and 5th graders from Manchester, Mt. Vernon, Readfield, and Wayne participated in the free after-school program.
The students played team-building games, ran, explored trails, and did group activities with the supervision of two adult volunteers – one from the community and one from the school staff. Every student received a sweet Kids on the Go t-shirt (designed by 2022 MCHS grad, Anna Erb), a water bottle and snacks at each meeting.
As we reflect on the accomplishments of this Fall, we’re reminded of the equally wonderful sessions in the Fall and Spring of last year. The enthusiasm from our students is infectious, with many eagerly asking, “When is Kids on the Go going to start?” upon returning to school in the Fall. It’s clear that Kids on the Go has become a cherished part of their school experience.
Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for KOTG Spring 2024! However, to ensure Kids on the Go remains free to all students, we need your support. Operating as a free program relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers.
We invite you to consider making a $5 one-time donation or a monthly recurring donation to help sustain and expand Kids on the Go. Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a crucial role in making a positive impact on the lives of these students.
We are also looking for volunteers so that we can expand programming to other age groups and the Fayette Elementary school. If you are interested please contact us.
