The Community Fund is dedicated to creating community-building programs for families in Fayette, Readfield, Manchester, Mt.Vernon, and Wayne.
Through the support of community members, school staff, and parents, we have created Kids on the Go, a free after-school program that has served over 100 4th and 5th graders. We are looking forward to continuing this wonderful program!
Additionally, in 2024 we are working to create a shared Gear Library to create more opportunities for families to get outside and play.
I hope we can work together to improve the quality of life of young people and their families in the Maranacook area.
Get Involved: Mt. Vernon After-School Program
Many Mt.Vernon families are struggling to find reliable after school care for their kiddos.
We are collaborating with dedicated school staff, parents, and enthusiastic community members to establish a low-cost, daily after-school program at Mt. Vernon Elementary School and run by the Mt.Vernon Recreation Department. The program will run from 2:30 to 5:30. A director and some school staff ensure supervision, and we are fortunate to have generous community members volunteering their time.
