Kids on The Go!

We recently completed our fourth season of Kids on the Go! This season, 62 enthusiastic 4th and 5th graders from Manchester, Mt. Vernon, Readfield, and Wayne participated in the free after-school program.

The students played team-building games, ran, explored trails, and did group activities with the supervision of two adult volunteers – one from the community and one from the school staff. Every student received a sweet Kids on the Go t-shirt (designed by 2022 MCHS grad, Anna Erb), a water bottle and snacks at each meeting.

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for KOTG Spring 2025! However, to ensure Kids on the Go remains free to all students, we need your support. Operating as a free program relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers.

We invite you to consider making a $5 one-time donation or a monthly recurring donation to help sustain and expand Kids on the Go. Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a crucial role in making a positive impact on the lives of these students.

When asked to reflect on KOTG, here's what some kids and parents said!

“I always look forward to Wednesdays. I have so much fun. I wish it lasted longer!”

“My child tends to be shy and socially distant from her peers. Kids on the go helped her tremendously with connecting with peers.”

“Loved seeing the excitement and joy after every KOTG. Allowed kids to work together and engage in outdoor activities that showed teamwork patience and determination. One of the best programs for kids.”

“It was so cool, and so much fun to be around everyone and coming together to solve things.”

“The Kids on the Go Program was a wonderful experience for my child. He left full of excitement, eager to share what he’d learned and done.”

“I loved Kids on the Go! We got to play all kinds of fun games, learn new things, and get exercise. Our teacher was super nice, and I made a few new friends. Everyone was kind to each other too.”
